Meet Our Directors

Dr. Joseph Rodgers Mankato Area Youth Symphony Orchestra Dr. Rodgers is the Director of Orchestral Studies at Minnesota State University and is stepping into the position of musical director for MAYSO as of Spring, 2009. He earned his Bachelor of Music from the University of Massachusettes in Amherst, his Masters of Music from the University of Illinois/Urbana, and his Doctorate of Music from the University of Kansas. He has performed in Spain, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Kore and Australia as well as over 15 states in the U.S. He teaches privately, as well in the Mankato area.

Steve Dunn North Star Strings Conductor Stephen Dunn has taught public school orchestra for 25 years; the past 20 have been spent teaching grades 5-12 orchestra in the Mankato district. He has also played violin in the Mankato Symphony for over 25 years and for the past 5 years has played on a regular basis in a string quartet.
